First Aid at Work (Level 3)

Duration - 3 days

Cost - £180

If your assessment of the workplace indicates the need for qualified First Aiders, then this course will meet your requirements and fulfill your statutory obligations under the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.


In addition to understanding the legal responsibilities of being a First Aider, this 3-day course will enable participants to gain the skills and confidence to deal with a range of everyday first aid emergencies including: -

  • Legislation, Responsibilities and Reporting
  • Action in an emergency
  • Primary and secondary survey
  • Unresponsive, breathing and non-breathing casualties
  • Defibrillation
  • Heart attacks & Angina
  • Strokes
  • Shock
  • Fainting
  • Cuts and bleeding
  • Burns and scalds
  • Fractures
  • Sprains and strains
  • Head injuries
  • Eye injuries
  • Choking
  • Asthma
  • Seizures & Epilepsy
  • Diabetes
  • Poisoning
  • Anaphylaxis

Our courses consist of on-going practical exercises throughout each day together with written assessments. Upon successful completion, delegates will receive a First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for 3 years.



First Aid at Work (Level 3) Re-qualification

Duration - 2 days

Cost - £120


Our 2-day course is aimed at those who already hold a First Aid at Work (Level 3) certificate which is due to expire.


The topics covered are as for the 3-day First Aid at Work course and assessment will be by on-going practical and written exercises. Upon successful completion, delegates will receive a First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for another 3 years.



First Aid at Work Annual Refresher 

Duration - 1 day

Cost - £70


While not a mandatory requirement, it is strongly recommended that all First Aiders attend an annual refresher course to maintain their skill level and to update them on any protocol changes since their last First Aid at Work course.



Emergency First Aid at Work (Level 3)

Duration - 1 day

Cost - £70


Where your assessment o​f the workplace indicates the need for personnel trained in Emergency First Aid at Work, this course will provide the skills necessary to treat casualties effectively.

Topics covered include: -

  • Legislation, Responsibilities and Reporting
  • Action in an emergency
  • Primary survey

  • Defibrillation
  • Choking
  • Shock
  • Fainting
  • Cuts and bleeding
  • Burns
  • Seizures

Automated External Defibrillator (AED) & CPR (Level 2)

Duration - 6 hours

Cost - £48


AED's are becoming increasingly common in the workplace and it is important to have appropriately trained individuals to use them. The use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) can dramatically increase the chance of survival in the event of a cardiac arrest when combined with effective CPR.


As this is a fully accredited course, delegates will: -

  • Receive an understanding of defibrillation
  • Understand what is a cardiac arrest?
  • Recognise when an AED is needed
  • Appreciate the safety precautions necessary when using a AED
  • Be able  use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) on adults and children
  • Be able to carry out effective Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Understand post-resuscitation care

With the proliferation of Public Access Defibrillators, this course could benefit anyone, not just fully qualified First Aiders. A certificate, valid for 3 years,  will be awarded to delegates who pass this course.



Oxygen Therapy & CPR (Level 3)

Duration - 6 hours

Cost - £48


Oxygen therapy can have an extremely beneficial effect on casualties with a range of conditions from breathing difficulties to heart attacks. A number of companies are now providing their First Aiders with the necessary equipment and it is vital they know how and when to administer it and what precautions must be observed. This fully regulated course will provide First Aiders with that knowledge.

It consists of practical and written exercises. Upon completion, candidates will be able to demonstrate : -

  • Storage and handling of oxygen equipment
  • Indications for the use of oxygen
  • The benefits of oxygen therapy
  • The precautions needed when using oxygen
  • How to administer oxygen
  • Effective cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Post-resuscitation care

Upon successful completion a certificate will be awarded which is valid for 3 years.



Immediate Management of Anaphylaxis (Level 3)

Duration - 6 hours

Cost - £48


Anaphylaxis is the body's over-reaction to an allergen. It is estimated that half a million people in the UK have suffered an anaphylaxis reaction to wasp/bee stings and a quarter of a million to nuts. Around 20 people die of anaphylaxis in the UK every year.


This course is aimed at First Aiders to enable them to recognise the symptoms and to provide effective treatment to those suffering an anaphylactic reaction.

This course will enable delegates to: -

  • Understand their responsibilities as a First Aider
  • Identify the causes of anaphylaxis
  • Understand the symptoms and effects
  • Use auto-injectors (Epi-pens)
  • Appreciate the precautions to take when using auto-injectors
  • Perform effective cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

  • Administer post-resuscitation care

Upon successful completion a certificate will be awarded which is valid for 3 years.
